Hush-Hush

Because of Magnum's incredibly high standards, its archives are as precious as a curly-haired stage school brat, and includes no less than one million pictures by the likes of Eve Arnold, Raymond Depardon and Martin Parr. Set up by founding fathers Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Capa, George Rodger and David Seymour, the cooperative was established after WWII to document how the world had changed through imagery. Fortunately for us mere mortals, Magnum frequently exhibits its stock across galleries in London, New York, Tokyo, and now Paris. Its latest gallery was opened by veteran arthouse publisher Robert Delpire in Saint-Germain-de-Pres, and comprises more gallery space than you can shake a stick at and a library where signed copies, limited editions and Magnum publications can be borrowed and bought. With all the hush-hush secrecy and intrigue of a Dan Brown novel, this is one cooperative we wouldn't mind being a part of. If we could use a camera, that is.
