![]() Fortunately, Espana's not-so-secret snapping caught the attention of a make-up artist who asked to see his work; she wasted no time in buying a selection of his best images and selling them on to a high-profile magazine. It was the rush of publication that had Espana hooked, and the rest, as they say, is history. After learning basic technical skills from his photographer friend John Sann, Espana took a job at Pier 59 and worked alongside the likes of Meisel, Steven Klein and Patrick Demarchelier, among others. With so much talent in one studio, it was bound to rub off on the impressionable young photographer and Espana learnt to captivate his fans with images that range from classic cinematic to contemporary collage.
