Scratching The Surface
While the design's actual shape may not be all that innovative, it is the concept's surface that earns it originality points. Made from a polycarbonate shell embedded with LEDs and LCDs, drivers are able to apply their own surface designs to their vehicles. Designs can be either static or animated, and ready-made designs are available for download for those who aren't all that creative. And that's not all; the MOY is also powered by electric motors housed in its wheels, complete with drive-to-wire technology. It's no wonder the Croatian designer snagged first place at this year's auto(r), Europe's biggest automotive design conference. We update our iPod playlists and Facebook statuses, so why shouldn't we update our car surfaces?
