MYLA

The Italian Mob

Crafted by husband-and-wife team Ottavio and Rosita Missoni, the Missoni aesthetic was 'discovered' by mainstream consumers in 1969 when the then-Editor-In-Chief of American Vogue, Diana Vreeland, brought the brand to the attention of her international audience. Famed for its bold patterns and complex textures, Missoni has since become one of the world's most recognisable fashion brands - creating everything from clothes to furniture, and, most recently, hotels. The exhibition is to be held across three galleries at The Estorick Colleciton of Modern Italian Art in Islington, and is curated by Luca Missoni as a rare 'behind-the-scenes' look into the brand. Rather than focusing on finished products, the exhibition is about the production aspect of Missioni, revealing the technical working processes and inspiration behind the glossy glamour.
