With the help of various housing corporations, Redlight Art Amsterdam has snapped up a number of buildings in the Red Light District and transformed them into gorgeous art galleries. While some of the buildings will be used for temporary exhibits, others will be transformed into permanent spaces for artists to showcase their works. With prostitution still legal in the Netherlands, the artists will be working side-by-side with ladies of the night, who are still flaunting their goodies in adjacent windows. Eight artists are participating in the first phase of the project, although more will undoubtedly follow. While sex and art have always been linked, this latest venture is taking the connection a step further. We, for one, can't wait to walk the streets and check it out.
