Dessert Island
For ages now we've been wondering why breakfast isn't given the same treatment as lunch or dinner at restaurants; greasy fry-ups or day-old fruit salads is about the extent of most breakfast menus, and, to be quite honest, it just isn't good enough. Thankfully, the Island Restaurant & Bar feels the same and has introduced a mouthwatering new breakfast menu; launching on 20 April, the menu offers diners two-or three-course plated breakfasts, accompanied by a wide selection of juices, teas, coffees or pastries. Head Chef Jean-Claude Vydelingum is the man behind the menu, and has worked hard to produce traditional dishes - including Eggs Benedict and English Breakfast - with more innovative options, such as the Lobster Club Sandwich and a Breakfast Burrrito. Desserts are pretty damn good here, too, with Buttermilk Pancakes and Chocolate French Toast particular favourites. With sumptuous design and a Sex and the City-style crowd, the Island Restaurant & Bar is the perfect place to fill your designer boots before you hit the shops on nearby Oxford Street.
