9021Oscar

A true classic never dies, and such is the case of the Beverly Hills Hotel. While newer, sleeker hotels have opened and subsequently closed, the Beverly Hills Hotel - which opened back in 1912 and retains many of the original features - has remained. It was where the likes of John F Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe stayed back in the day (probably together), and has seen more sex and scandal unfold than any second-rate Hollywood paparazzo could ever hope for. This year, the Beverly Hills Hotel - which is part of the high-end Dorchester Collection - is going all-out to celebrate Oscar fever in true Hollywood fashion. Not only will Sous Chef Daniel Olson be creating Oscar-themed lunch menus at The Polo Lounge, but Beverage Manager Michael Paloff will be mixing up movie-related cocktails at Bar NINETEEN12. These innovative creations will be connected with nominees for 'Best Picture', including The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Milk, Frost/Nixon, The Reader and Slumdog Millionaire. Why not try 'Millionaire' Samosas with Kobe Beef, Bombay Onions and Tamarind Dipping Sauce, all washed down with a Millionaire Mango Ginger Mojito? Not only will guests be able to indulge in movie madness at the Beverly Hills Hotel, but they'll undoubtedly rub shoulders with some of Tinsel Town's top movers and shakers, with actors, directors and Hollywood big-shots sashaying in and out of the hotel throughout the week. While the interiors may not be as hip as newer LA hotels, the Beverly Hills Hotel will always be the place to stay in Hollywood. All you need to do now is figure out what number you'll be slipping into for the red carpet.
