The Darling Buds Of May Fair

Deserving of every one of its shiny gold stars, the May Fair Hotel underwent a costly refurbishment in 2006 that saw is go from frump to fab in the flick of a talented interior designer's pen. Having gone from strength to strength since its acquisition by the Radisson Edwardian Group, the hotel has once again become a favourite amongst the city's top movers and shakers, with the likes of supermodel Kate Moss and actor Jude Law sashaying through its shiny glass doors whenever the mood takes them. The hotel's public spaces are all sleek marble, soft leather and glistening Baccarat chandeliers, a sumptuous theme that carries through into the on-site bar, spa, cinema, restaurant and grill. The hotel's 410 rooms aren't too shabby, either, but the crowning glory of the May Fair Hotel is the 200-square-metre Penthouse Suite. It's everything you'd expect a Mayfair penthouse to be, too, with wall-mounted plasma TVs, James Bond-style integrated fireplace, 70s-esque revolving bed and panoramic views of Britain's fair capital; incidentally, it also happens to be the super-swish venue for Gunpowder's official Guy Fawkes-themed launch party this very evening. Jealous? We sincerely hope so.
