Aside from being decked out in signature Bulgari style, the most incredible thing about the Bulgari Hotel is its natural setting. Perched high above the Indian Ocean on a rugged clifftop, there's nothing but blue sea and lush greenery for miles around. Even the air smells fresher here, which is probably why stressed-out business execs and VIP celebs are willing to fork out a pretty penny for a week or two's stay. The hotel itself is designed by Antonio Citterio and Partners, and every aspect ensures that guests are kept in the manner to which they've become accustomed. A contemporary take on traditional Balinese style, the hotel is built from the ground up with locally-sourced materials and features fifty-nine luxury villas, an in-house spa  with swimming pool and two gorgeous restaurants (one serving authentic Indonesian fare, the other lipsmackingly good Italian cuisine). The hotel has its own private beach, too, which can be reached via funicular railway by scantily-clad guests looking to frolic in the warm waters or grab a cocktail at the on-site beach club. Proving that Bulgari can do more than make exquisite watches and jewellery, the Bulgari Hotel is brand extension at its most successful.
