After Eight
We won't divulge the exact location of Eight, that would be telling, but we will tell you that it has a refined client list, exquisite decor and the best damn drinks this side of the River. Comprising six private rooms set over two darkened floors, a 20-seat cinema, a series of gaming rooms, a pool room and two bars, Eight is like a sumptuous home away from home for the members who gather here after a stressful day in the City. Think handsome strock-brokers and paparazzi-shy celebrities unwinding over a game of pool, or a couple of media professionals settling down in the cinema to watch a movie in peace and quiet. Members access the club with personal swipe cards at a concealed entrance, which opens up two basement areas brimming with luxurious design and bespoke furnishings. Equipped with everything a office-worker needs, including complimentary WiFi Internet access and boosters to increase mobile phone reception, members can choose to use Eight Club as a place to work or a place to play. Those who prefer play can head for the well-stocked bar for a post-work tipple or three, or make their way to one of the nine-foot championship Brunswick pool tables. There are also a number of gaming rooms, each with their own bars, LCD screens, DVD players, Playstations, iPod docks and sound systems. At Eight it's all about the comfort and privacy of its members, with style and sophistication layered thickly on top.
