Although the fragrance will be available worldwide by 2009, it will be sold this year exclusively at Harrods in London and Sephora in France. As you'd expect from the flamboyant designer, the fragrance comes in an outrageous bottle with its neck inspired by the collars that appeared in Galliano's very first fashion collection. Looking like one of Galliano's couture creations isn't the only stylish touch to the fragrance; the cap is topped with a rather Gothic-looking 'G', while the box itself is designed to look like a collage or age-old travel journal. Those who attended the launch of the fragrance earlier this month described the scent as sweet, light and floral, with ingredients that include rose, lavender, bergamot, violet and notes of amber. Having been involved with the scent every step of the way, Galliano is understandably proud of his latest product; "We had about 360 tests - more than for a couture collection," the designer commented. While most people these days launch a fragrance at the drop of a hat, Galliano has taken 20 years to come up with his own, proving that age really does come before beauty.
