House On The Hill

Having been taken under the wing of the prestigious Spanish AC hotel group, the former twenties palace that sits majestically on the Montjuïc hillside overlooking Barcelona is now one of the city's most striking hotels. Having been fully renovated by architect Oscar Tusquets, the AC Miramar is now the go-to place for jet-setting businessmen and heel-wearing fashionistas visiting the Catalonian capital. Featuring no less than 75 extremely well-appointed rooms, a spa, outdoor pool and surrounded by manicured gardens, the AC Miramar will have any guest feeling like a king or queen worthy of their subjects. Each room boasts true Gunpowder-approved luxury, with designer touches such as Philippe Starck half-egg baths, while the public areas are sanctuaries of caramel-coloured marble, buff leather sofas and thick chocolate rugs. Fine-dining can be enjoyed on-site, too, at the delectable Le Forestier restaurant; here contemporary Spanish cuisine is prepared overlooking the city, with fashionably guests clinking flutes of champagne and tucking into masterpieces served by Carme Marsa. Set far enough back from the city but close enough to enjoy all it has to offer, the AC Miramar is certainly one of Barcelona's best.
