By Royal Appointment
The Queen’s granddaughter agreed to pose for her first official portrait on behalf of Sport Relief - the feisty royal is an avid sports fan, and is currently in training with her horse, Toytown, for the Beijing Olympics. Vettriano, whose paintings sell for no less than 700,000 each, was keen to paint the 12th in line to the British throne. He commented: “I don’t really do portraits so I told them I would only do it if Zara Phillips agreed. I love the way she is lying with the Union Jack draped beneath her. I think it is a very sexy and powerful image”. Measuring 20x20, and painted with oil on canvas, the portrait will be auctioned later this year. There'll certainly be more than stiff upper-lips when this goes under the hammer, that's for sure!
